About Me

I’ve been teaching math in Chicago at several different schools. I’ve been at a brand new school (we’re still in the adding-a-new-class-each-year phase) for the past two years, and this is my eighth year.

I teach Advanced Algebra with Trig Honors, AP Statistics, and a low-level/remedial Advanced Algebra (basically Algebra 1). I love thinking and talking about planning, math, curriculum, why I didn’t get taught right and also other things. I like doing crafty & home decorating type stuff as well as baking, but you’ll only see that here if its also math-related (otherwise it will be at my other blog, homemade-handmade.net).

My sister is a fourth grade teacher who loves math, so hopefully she will guest post here sometimes, and you will hear plenty about her as we compare and contrast what we think about math education and policy.
